He was still up against the GOP-e while in office, even if he had succeeded as third-party or independent. Nonsequitur.

The fix was in, but they didn’t anticipate how strongly Trump would win. They just didn’t cheat hard enough — but they learned their lesson.

My point was that assuming he could have won as an independent (which maybe he couldn’t have)

He would have at least picked his own advisers instead of trusting the GOP-e to do it for him.

Apparently, the GOP-e even picked his SCOTUS nominees.

That's easy. They massively underestimated the amount of fraud they needed in 2016. They didn't make that mistake in 2020.
