Sweet.
Love it.
Canada geese, which live to about 25 years of age in the wild, usually find a mate around the age of 3 and will stay with their partners for life, Department of Natural Resources experts say.

Exceeds human behavior tremendously, but this is not surprising.
We have a bird feeder on the deck.
When it runs out of seed, a magpie walks to the window and taps on it until we come out to refill.
She was feeling....down.
I think geese mate for life.
Another tapping on the door; this time, it was the AFLAC duck.
I noticed the story used the pronoun “HE” for the male, and “SHE” for the female. Shhhh. Maybe no one will notice! A pair is composed of a male and a female. There is no “trans” in nature! Nobody uses made-up pronouns for geese!
Sweet story.
For the last few years, since building the pond behind the house, we have a pair of Canada Geese that frequent our place. Their devotion to one another is well known. We have a National Wildlife Refuge near us and knew one of the mangers. When I was growing up, his stories of geese and their loyalty to one another swore me off of hunting them. Something else will have to thin the population but not me.
The pairs here graze around the pond one eating while the other watches. They entertain the cats who have given up stalking and instead just walk out to check on the geese. The cats get hissed at but I’ve never seen one bitten.
We do have a fence that prevents the geese from wandering into the yard and leaving grease droppings.
Don’t want to crap on a nice story but there appears to be lots of goose poop all over that outside deck..........
