I actually like the lyrics better than the battle narrative...
There is a mention God in the song... When I was a kid in the mid-70’s I thought “God Bless America” or “America the Beautiful” would make a better national anthem than a Baltimore drinking song about Fort McHenry getting shelled...
If it does become our new National Anthem, as I do think it is inevitable it will, they will change the lyrics.
I note also, that ironically the Russian National Anthem, although musically is the same as the Soviet Anthem, now has the word “God” in the lyrics.
