In the past seven days, South Africa has never come closer to becoming a failed state. The riotous looting has reduced Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, the two provinces hit hard by the social unrest into what resembles warzones. The country quickly descended into what could be the beginning innings of a civil war, prompting the government to call up military reserves and seek deployment of up to 25,000 troops to quell the violence.

"It is a war zone . . . towns deserted, shops looted, bodies lying on the road," John Steenhuisen, leader of the main opposition Democratic Alliance, in the province, told Financial Times. "We have an internal African National Congress battle that has spilled over on to the streets of KwaZulu-Natal . . . the initiative has been completely lost by the security services. They need urgent reinforcement."

Countries don’t just stay together for no reason. If South Africa is to endure the coming decades, it must give its people something to believe in. Failure to do so will allow racial sectionalism to grow, potentially spelling doom for the South African experiment.

One source claims that one of the side effects of the breakdown of the South African government is that whites and Asian Indians have free rein to engage in self-defense. As for the long term fate of the Afrikaners, it is not good. British South Africans can return to the UK; Jewish South Africans have the right to go to Israel. The Afrikaners, a mix of Dutch, German, and French settlers of the Reformed faith who arrived in what became South Africa during the 1600s, do not have recent ties to any European country.

There were times in the middle ages and before where a few sub-Saharan African countries eclipsed those of Europe.

Deserts environments and hard winters force humans to plan ahead or die and over time they adapt to that need both physically and culturally. This gives these people an advantage over peoples living in gentler, more productive environments.

I believe that mega-cities serve some of the same purpose where the completion for resources forces the masses there to naturally separate into winners and losers where the winners stick it to the losers. In cities you always seem to see the rise of a despicable pimp-class composed of the best and brightest, the leaders of the criminal gangs, and their entitled spawn.

All of our major cities in America have been taken over by slowly by the criminal class. Now these thugs running our cities wish to rule the rest of the county. The Founding Fathers knew all about how great cities will inevitably try to crush the rest of the countryside around them to feed themselves as they fought off the ruling class of London, the Empire's capital.

America was the exception when our Constitution still bound down and constrained the natural inclination of any ruling class to enslave those below. We have to save The Republic or the lives of everyone in America will descend into a totalitarian dystopia that will make Detroit look like a paradise..
