Now they had a quarterback who reach 4,000 yard three years in a row with a terrible team and no true #1 receiver. One of those years he basically got 5,000 yards. And, for the last six years he played 16 games. One of those years he played 15 games.
Apparently the skins don't want a good quarterback. They had one who was consistent and stayed healthy and they couldn't get him out of town fast enough.
Crappy owner. Crappy franchise. But Ron Rivera is turning things around (at least for the time being). Bad luck with Alex Smith. He broke his leg just like Joe Theismann did. That's football. You just never know on any given Sunday.
In fairness to Alex Smith, he had 4-5 different head coaches/offensive coordinators in his first 4-5 years.
