That natural immunity is great was first mentioned here.
We try to be objective in general, evidence has been very favorable about the vaccines.
Last week I visited a ‘violent anti vax’ thread about the vax eating peoples’ brains. Even worse than their usual fearporn mis-representing VAERS reports.
Anyway, I’ll admit no one’s perfect or can be expected to be. It’ll be years before this is all clearly understood.

Right on par with what the rest of the Country, and the rest of the World, is seeing with these vaccines.
Many Countries (such as the UK and Israel) are shifting their vaccination efforts more to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, if they can.
Younger folks are certainly circulating more. And I’m familiar with a few that had it and healed.
I’m ambivalent about the elders getting vaccinated. It’s a different matter, however, for those that fall into the 0.015% category — mainly the young. Furthermore, I’m not saying the vax doesn’t prevent the SARS symptoms.

It is a pleasure to have reasonable debate. I tend to be against vaccination for the youth. In due course they will fight it off. I am also of the opinion that natural immunity is the real thing, gets to T cell (memory) and that if you have had it you are good to go and need not to be vaccinated.
In my judgment, a tiered approach should be used and it seems to be what is happening. I think that anyone over 65 should be vaccinated regardless of health status. I think anyone over 40 with comorbidities should be vaccinated or with high exposure (health care workers for example).
I think if you are under 40 and in good shape — not being vaccinated is a very reasonable choice. The risks and benefits are about the same for this age group.
I am also of the opinion that the delta variant is far more contagious and spreads more rapidly, while being less severe. This is exactly what should happen in a pandemic. Lots of people in the middle part of this pandemic compared this to the Spanish flu of 1917. That came in three waves. I think this is the third wave, that will run its course more rapidly, and hopefully with many vaccinations being given, will accelerate the speed of the wave because there are just not as many placed for the virus to take hold.
This third more contagious wave + natural immunity + vaccine immunity should equal true herd immunity.
This MoFo vaccine better work and not have long term consequences (which obviously can’t be known - unless one can show me the 5 year safety study on this new technology). I’m not taking it - have no risks. But pretty much everyone I know - friends and family caved and did. I am in bewildered awe at young healthy people participating in the test.

Of course you shouldn’t be attacked, but your postings are most certainly pro-vax — and that’s perfectly okay if you honestly believe the vaccines are worth it.
There’s no context. There are no published projections showing the major variables combined, so instead people tend to cherry-pick the data that favors their views.
I can go to the CDC right now and demonstrate there’s absolutely no justification whatsoever to jab at least half the population. But instead, there’s a tyrannical campaign underway to ensure that every soul gets jabbed. That’s obscene.
1) Almost to the day, but certainly to the week, the present uptick in deaths is happening exactly as it did 1 year ago. The reason why is not known. My money is on heat driving people indoors to AC and virus.
2) The virus is likely not natural. Artificial. Putting all your eggs in the natural immunity basket is a shakey decision. Natural immunity vs non natural virus. Nope.
3) Saying the dead are only unvaccinated ignores the changed PCR cycle count criteria for a declared infection in vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Way too much presumption of bullet proofing. That armor will get more and more porous as the virus variants that evade vaccination are the ones that infect and reproduce. Hard to see how this does not happen.
I am a reasonable human being — sometimes getting insulted makes my blood boil and react — however, I have been treating this thing for now over 18 months, and the trends are emerging.
But thank you for your candor, and I will continue to try to be reasonable. Guided by the actual science and observations, and not by Fauci who I think is a total fraud. I am making my judgments based on the literature I have reviewed and actually treating people at bedside.

I have long said children should not be vaccinated. Young men under 30 and women on the pill need to look at their risk benefit carefully and therr risk of the disease is not zero as some would say. Those that have had proven covid do not need the vaccine either they would do better to wait. Ii would not give it to pregnant women either. However every time I attempt to have a logical conversation I just get hit with the usual insults. You seem to have a more reasonable stance. I wish people would drop the politics and conspiracy theories and have a measured debate. We might actually get somewhere if that would happen - both on this board and as a country

I know you have, and in your defense, I referenced that on threads where you were being attacked.
I don’t attack anyone here. Should I say something obnoxious, it’s not meant to be taken seriously. I may respond to attacks, but I certainly won’t initiate. I don’t know whom I dealing with, and I have no desire to cause anyone undeserved grief. No one hear should feel injured by my comments — and I believe that vast majority of FReepers share that view.
FR should be our mutual sanctuary for robust debate and truth. There’s no other place like it.
