I have a hunch that if our withdrawal from Afghanistan was being conducted under Trump, negotiations long before the withdrawal date would have firmly established that Afghan soldiers be treated with respect, and if any incidents like this one happened, there would be severe repercussions.
That’s why you have a skillful negotiator as a President, not a dementia victim.
We also probably would have allowed those Afghans who helped us, and therefore would be targeted to escape before we left.
