I hear about “vaccine evasion” of mutations but never a mention of “social distancing evasion” of mutations.
What strikes me now with Delta’s huge increase in transmissiblity is another cost of lockdowns: they encourage the virus to increase it’s transmissibility. Those strains that don’t are eliminated and those that do are rewarded.
Of course viruses are evolving that way inevitably, but “social distancing” measures- which is all anyone had to use before vaccines- would logically tend to encourage transmissibility.
Voila! ...Delta.
