Samuel Adams captured it perfectly almost 250 years ago:
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. I don’t know if I’ve ever had that beer, next time I’m in the states (if I ever make it again) I’ll have to try it.
