No. The front door on the right side of the shorts opened front to back and could absolutely be opened inflight. The back doors opened back to front and could not be opened inflight. I flew on them for 6 years- google them and you can see the hinges are on the back side of the doors, closest to the back of the plane.
Also, when the door was opened, it slammed so hard against the side of the plane it sounded like an explosion according to the pilots. The metal was twisted where the door hit the side of the plane.
And crazy story!!! I bet you have so many more!!! I sure miss being around airline people!!!
I flew on C-23B... B+, and C’s. They were a merger of a 360 and 330. I forget which civilian model had the twin tail, but they chopped it off and switched it to the better /newer airframe. Had a large ramp door, and two side doors in the back. Doors swung in, so we could open in flight to drop paratroops. Rampdoor swung both ways. There was a large cargo door on the front left, and two window hatches in the front. Maybe they did open like you said. I gotta look at my old pics.. its been 18 years.
Im supprised that door didnt rip off and take out an engine or something!
AHHHahaha You’re right! The widow / hatchs did open to the back. Hahah We didnt have a door. Thats right where I sat too First row, right side.
