Wherein a cosseted white female sports announcer discovers that "diversity" is a zero-sum game.
Back when ESPN was watchable, I confess to having a petite faiblesse for Rachel Nichols. She was cute and congenial, and — unlike many females broadcasting male sports — she rarely pretended to know more than she did. These past weeks, however, Nichols has found herself embroiled in a petite scandale. Her transgression? Objecting to the professional mugging she received at the hand of ESPN's "diversity" goons.
I would have preferred to portray my beloved Rachel as pure victim, but the story's not quite that simple.

The Ministry of Truth, more casually known as the New York Times, broke the lengthy story of Rachel's undoing on July 4 of this year. What better way to honor Independence Day? A year earlier, Nichols had inadvertently taped a phone call she made with LeBron James's agent, Rich Paul, and a James adviser named Adam Mendelsohn.
Nichols vented after having been passed over for a promised slot — "this job is in my contract in writing" — as host of the NBA finals coverage. "I wish Maria Taylor all the success in the world — she covers football, she covers basketball," said Nichols. "If you [ESPN] need to give her more things to do because you are feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity — which, by the way, I know personally from the female side of it — like, go for it. Just find it somewhere else. You are not going to find it from me or taking my thing away."
Without intending, Nichols had spoken the unspeakable truth about "diversity." It is a zero-sum game.

Leftists should put their petards in a safe place in case the hoisting falls back on them.
Espn awhile back started pushing their liberal agenda on everything they did.
I disconnected from Cable and refuse to watch their propaganda bull shit.
Anything bad that happens to Espn is a good thing.
Their monthly funding has dropped precipitously and that is a great thing, may the funds dry up like Lake Mead.
A negative-sum game. Not only are people being placed based on non-qualification characteristics, but people so placed have a false sense of merit and can not be replaced, except to promote up.
I think her rage stems from the realization she was hired, in the first place, because of diversity, not her talent
It’s their problem (ESPN) and they probably had it coming.
ESPN is probably not worried about finances. The more they lose from traditional sources of income (ratings, ads, etc.), the more China or some deep-pocketed group (flush with cash from trillions of Monopoly money passed out by the federal government) will step up to keep them afloat financially. That way they can continue to infuse their sports audience with Leftist politics.
I’m laughing my petit derriere off over “petite faiblesse”!
