Murdoch personally made pivotal election night decision for Fox News to call Arizona early for Biden claims book

Rupert Murdoch personally made the decision to allow Fox News to broadcast that it had called Arizona for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, a new book reveals.

Donald Trump and his aides were furious when Fox News became the first network on election night to call Arizona for Biden. And the founder of News Corp. was behind the decision, revealed Michael Wolff in his forthcoming book 'Landslide.'

On election night, Murdoch's son Lachlan, the CEO of Fox Corporation, got a call from the network's election-data operation shortly after 11 p.m. ET saying they were ready to declare Arizona for Biden.

The state was highly competitive during the contest and had not gone for a Democrat since Bill Clinton in 1996. Biden and Trump both campaigned hard for the state with Biden winning a coveted endorsement from Cindy McCain.

Wolff notes in his book, according to an excerpt published by Business Insider, that the Murdoch family had 'every reason' to delay calling Arizona, given Fox's pro-Trump stance and the fact that no other network had made the call yet.

'Lachlan got his father on the phone to ask if he wanted to make the early call. His father, with signature grunt, assented, adding, 'F*** him,'' Wolff wrote.

Fox News calling Arizona was a pivotal moment in the coverage of the election as the earlier results showed Trump had a chance he could retake the White House.

He’s amazing with numbers; able to call Arizona early on when Biden went on to “win” Arizona by 11,000 votes out of three million. The dork who worked for Murdoch also predicted that Pelosi would expand the Dem majority in the House - they lost 16 seats. No more Fox for me, I don’t reward treachery and liars.

Considering the author of this book, I sure wouldn’t take this as gospel

Most likely it was the son who funneled $100 million to groups to beat Trump

I have not watched Fox News since election night.

Not. One. Single. Night. Since.

And I was an avid watcher since the 1990s.

To their detriment. Other than Tucker a few nights a week and Levin, don’t watch FOX anymore.

I wouldn't believe anything that Michael Wolff has to say.

Rush Limbaugh said this right after the 2020 Election that Fox was angry at Trump.

I haven’t watched Fox News programming since except for a little Fox and Friends Weekend to enjoy Rachel Campos-Duffy.

Doesn’t matter who made the decision that night. The decision to join the coup was made by FOX before the election. Nearly all DC Republicans made the same decision prior to 11/3 as well.

I felt the same way about Fox after the election. I was never going to watch them again after the travelogue and “we have so much to be thankful for” show.

However, Tucker is amazing and is the only one saying many things that need to be said. I only watch Tucker now on Fox.

“I will never watch Fox News again, except for ‘Tucker’”. With all due respects, you are part of the problem. Tucker is Fox. There are plenty of alternatives including stop watching corporate media entirely. Read the linked article: they are mocking you and using you.

2 days after the election Tucker had a guest on who has been on many times. Instead of staying on subject the guest used his segment to dump on Trump and call for the GOP to concede gracefully and start working with the Biden administration. Tucker never challenged him and let him ramble on. A few days later Tucker had him on again and there was no mention of the prior incident. That was the last time I watched Tucker.

I thought Rupert Murdoch had given control of Fox News to his sons before that. Since they are liberal, even putting Paul Ryan on their board, who I understood wanted Fox not to be so supporting of Pres. Trump. This makes more sense.
