How wonderful! I walked and played 18 holes alone in the pouring rain today on what seemed like my own private golf course. It was a very zen experience and I was sorry when it was over, even though I looked like someone dumped a few of buckets of water over me (I don’t wear rain gear). Those are great days!
Was Bill Murray your caddy?
rn: max appreciation. In before my birth year.
Soon.
18 holes in the pouring rain doesn’t sound very enjoyable. Then again, I was a meter reader for the local electric company some 40 years ago, and walked in all kinds of weather. The difference is that you were out there voluntarily, while it was my job to be out there.
There is a certain serenity that exists in inclement weather when nobody is around to bother you.
Oh, I hope you weren’t golfing in a lightning storm. But if you were, remember what Lee Trevino said - “even God can’t hit a 1-iron”. :)
Delighted for you and glad you, your golf club, and/or golf ball were not struck by lightning! 💕
when we lived in Panama (the country not the city) I golfed 18 holes 4-5 times a week. Major rain including electrical activity was a daily routine in the tropics. You just played on and didn’t worry about your being wet.. fun times. Good memories.
I presume you took home the trophy for the wet golf shirt contest.
