The EU often uses “Europe” interchangeably with its own identity. They also use terms such as “superstate”, which is merely a neologism for “empire”.
If you don’t see a problem with Germany controlling a virtually monopolistic supply of natural gas to the continent, you need to brush up on your history. Never mind Trump’s reasoning with respect to NATO: the European partners insist that there is a danger from Russia, but yet they are playing hurry-up offense to consolidate a new gas pipeline from Russia to Germany in particular, thus increasing dependence and giving Germany more control over the continent.
Who is this “everybody” you speak of with respect to Ukraine and Poland? The implication seems to be the left-wing elite controlling the EU.
Where do you get your “information” from?
What stops the US from exporting to Europe? The left in the US does; in case you missed the news, Biden put a stop to a lot of fracking, never mind the Keystone XL pipeline. And the reasoning behind Nord Stream II is to shut the US out of the market.
Sorry, but no cigar.
Germany is a single biggest consumer, all the big terminals are in other countries.
No German pipeline constricts their operation, as long as the deliveries are competitive on price.
If Poland likes the American gas it is free to consume it for four times the price and share it with Ukraine.
Germany, France don’t want to pay tribute to deadbeats, they already paid East Europe too much through the EU racket.
The bigger problem is the deadbeat corrupt countries, believing they would be able to strangle a viable commercial project for political reasons and then become the power brokers themselves.
Do you really believe that Germany, France, Austria etc would entrust their energy policies to Poland and Ukraine?
With or without Trump the idea is plain silly.
Cheap abundant gas is the foundation of the competitive economy. They shouldn’t risk it for other people’s geopolitical gains.
As for Biden and Russia I don’t get your idea. Okay, Biden ruined fracking. What is the outcome for Europe? Of course they like NSII even more, and you know what they think about Ukraine and Poland.
