Interesting difference between Russia and China. We are told that China who wants world domination must be engaged in massive trade. This, we are told is the only way to make them become more free, and to spread our values ( whatever those are anymore)
But with Russia we are told the only way to deal with them is to impede them participating in commerce and to isolate them.

So which is it? How do you make a nation more enlightened and free? Do you engage them or cut them off?
In DC, Gomorrah on the Potomac, the answer depends on the bribes available.

Consider that Biden made trade more open with both China and Russia now, although to the EU’s advantage and (always) the USA’s detriment. Trump was the one who advocated sanctions on both, and the liberal media decried him for allegedly causing “trade wars!”
