An example of the problem is that in both cases, the local leader who managed the charity and the purchase of all of the materials stole money from the group to fix their own home—which wasn’t horrible.
They would take five steps forward, and the corruption would send them six steps back.
Not everyone in Haiti is a corrupt a-hole. But those who are, get their fingers in a lot of bad things. It’s a cultural thing. And hanging them from trees doesn’t change the system.
Apparently there was pressure on him from Chicoms re. Belt Road money. This has Chiner, one way or another, written all over it.
