WASHINGTON, Jul. 8, 2021 — King & Spalding announced that former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Gina Haspel has joined the firm as a senior advisor on the firm’s National Security team. She will advise clients on matters involving institutional risk management, national security considerations, information technology, family office strategies, and cybersecurity.

“Operating in a dynamic global economy means our clients must be positioned to assess and manage risk,” said Zach Fardon, head of the firm’s Government Matters practice. “Gina joins a team who have held leadership positions in the nation’s intelligence, enforcement and regulatory agencies and who counsel clients on globally significant matters.”

Haspel served for more than three decades as an intelligence officer in all corners of the globe. She has been awarded the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal (2021), Distinguished Intelligence Medal (2021), Legion of Honor (France) (2020), Presidential Rank Award (2013) and the Donovan Award (2006, 2018).

“King & Spalding’s corporate, private equity, family office, and other global clients will benefit from Gina’s unique capability to manage risk,” said Zack Harmon, former FBI Chief of Staff and head of the firm’s National Security Team.

Haspel joins a number of former government colleagues in the firm’s Government Matters practice including Dan Coats, Sally Yates, Rod Rosenstein, Paul Murphy, Sumon Dantiki, Viraj Mirani, and Stephen Vaughn.
