Well, one could say that, but with George starting out with "Here Comes the Sun" and with John's "Because", the second side of Abbey Road, was a collbarative effort.

Actually “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” was probably the song that had more to do with the Beatles’ breakup than anything, because Paul spent so much time on it, and the other band members didn’t particularly care for it, so that created a lot of tension that pretty led to Paul saying, “Screw it”.

Macca’s first solo album is pretty much outtakes he was recording for Abbey Road.

You are probably correct about that. George publicly stated "Maxwell" was too fruity, which it was, and is the worst song on the album.

Is that why Lennon so renounced it later ? Although he didn’t seem to have much of a problem during the actual sessions.

In the late 70’s SNL would have this recurring skit offering $1,000 to the Beatles to reunite on the show. There was a story that Paul was in NY visiting John and they were watching the show and joking that they should go down to the studio and walk on and perform. Alas, this never happened.

I remember as a kid I loved the song, and I used to played The Beatles for my kids, and my son couldn't get enough of it LOL. I do note it was one of the first songs to use a synthesizer.

The only really good Stones album from start to finish since “Exile” was “Some Girls”.

I still love the song. The happy boppity feel of it overlaying lyrics about bloody-violent murder always amuse me and I've played (and badly sang) it often around the kids.

To me, melodically it kind of resembles the clarinet-heavy "When I'm 64" vibe, a song I don't particularly like as much.

Always been partial to Exile on Main St

"Aftermath" by the Stones in 66, was also a great album.
