I’ve met quite a few Hatians, going back to the mid 70s. I have found the overhelming majority of them to be nasty, entitled and generally disagreeable people who were not shy about telling me how much they hate the US. I don’t give a rat’s a$$ about Haiti or Haitians and their problems. My only wish with regard to that country is that we STOP wasting so much $$$ on them.

Haiti will just be Haiti. Elections won’t save it, nor will our money. The only thing we should be concerned about is keeping the communists out, and that means the Cubans. And that’s it. It needs a powerful dictator than can stay in control, ala Papa Doc.
Haiti’s entire history is the aftermath of a race war and 200 years of dealing with the consequences of it. That country cannot be fixed and its not our problem.
