Some people like commuting.
I despise it. I hate traffic--even when I have nowhere special to be or timeframe to be there in. I don't know what it is, but I just hate driving in traffic.
It could be that I learned to drive in the country, where I grew up. Back country roads, no traffic at all, and no one getting in my way or causing me unnecessary frustration.

What's weird is that during the lockdown when I primarily worked out of the house, I would still manufacture a commute for myself. My routine would be to get a cup of coffee and explore the local roads while reviewing the workday in front of me. Sometimes I'd do 30-40 miles just exploring the backroads in my area. As a result, I know all the roads around my area pretty well within about a 25 mile radius!
Rolling out of bed and going right to work is just not my style. I need that mental separation between home and the workplace.

same here. most drivers act as if they want me and fellow motorcyclists dead. Only way to affordably use the ferries
around here to go to the Kitsap side. WFH may have saved my life.
