Why would you take a thick cough syrup with a drying agent included and expect results. Common sense would suggest you want to make the phlegm more liquid, not the inverse.

‘Drying’ doesn’t make sense. The decongestants I’ve used in the past always talked about ‘thinning’ secretions and those work. :/
