Yep

One of my closest pals died in a small plane crash in the Mississippi delta in fall 1982

Scouting deer at camp ....low wing stall in a Cessna 150 in a bean field near the headwaters of the Yazoo

That death and subsequent funeral prompted me to find business to see the world and adventure for the next 20 years pretty much ....and I did

You two had way more compassion at a young age than I did. In high school we had one star athlete die suddenly of an aneurysm. We had three members of the football team burn to death because they were either too drunk or too stoned to get the hell out of a cabin that was on fire. We had one quiet kid hang himself.

Now granted they were classmates of mine in a large school rather than friends of mine but all the same I was pretty unmoved by it all. I think I may have been born a stoic.
