I’m currently on a completely non-updated win 7 old desktop. Very limited in what I can do online, and even the Word program is really bad! But I can hobble along. A (gack) win 10 laptop awaits but DH has to do something to it. Someone posted a site that sort of semi turns it into a win 7 since that is beyond my techtard status to implement, DH will do it. When he has time. Which will be... one of these days! Lately he’s been adding to a small hill he made already to put another water tank on so there’ll be gravity feed. In case of a wildfire, he plans to stay and fight it.
Speaking of fire, that reminds me of water- are you in danger of the hurricane or bad storm winds/rain?
Yes and no - thanks for asking. If it stays on the predicted path we are on the eastern fringes. A hurricane's strongest wind/rain fields are the northeast and east so much depends on the forward speed of the storm and whether it is generating tornados in its outer storm bands.
I am either an optimist or a fool; I didn't even lower the awnings. They are rigid materials with good support; 40mph gusts aren't much of a problem. I am taking a risk. When lowered they protect the window also. Please, NO tornadoes!
As hurricanes go this is a nothing burger. There is no threat of storm surge or flooding. We are 10 ft above mean sealevel.
