Crazy, isn’t it?

I think (if it helps) the number is a combo of IL. WI., MI., OH., and PA.
Lakes Michigan, Huron, and Erie.

Lake Superior had no drownings this July 4th.

And NY and lake Ontario (and NY border’s Erie in the west as well for good measure). On the Canadian side it’s only Ontario that borders a great lake, but it borders all except Michigan—Ontario is half again the size of Texas. And Quebec is bigger than Ontario, and B.C. slightly smaller. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba are all roughly the same size as Texas.
