The guy is from Maryland. He hadn’t set foot in Illinois until the Senate race. Then he ran an abysmal campaign that basically handed the Senate seat to Obama on a platter.
I was there. I cringed every time he opened his mouth. The machinations of the Illinois GOP aside Keyes should have politely declined to run.
But he was to egotistical to do that.

Many of us were there and remember what happened. He didn’t hand Zero that seat, it was already handed to Zero when they ran Sen. Peter Fitzgerald out of office and Jack Ryan out of the race. Why do you think Zero gave Ray LaThug that Cabinet post on a silver platter ?
