Democratic Congressman André Carson of Indiana said Sunday that he wants Congress to conduct hearings on purported sightings of UFOs in the wake of a Pentagon report examining the so-called "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UAPs).
In an interview with "Face the Nation," Carson, who chairs the subcommittee on counterintelligence and counterproliferation on the House Intelligence Committee, said it is his "hope" there will be a "series of hearings," including one that is public, in the "very near future."
"The report is inconclusive. What we do know is that ... there have been nearly 150 sightings. Eighty of those sightings have been detected with some of the best technology the world has ever seen," Carson said. "And we can't rule out something that's otherworldly, but that's a very small percentage."

Government officials said there was no doubt the UAPs were physical objects, quieting speculation the incidents were the result of optical illusions caused by atmospheric conditions or sensor malfunctions.
Carson said the objects pose a technical and national security concern and called it "curious" that many of the sightings have occurred around military installations.
"We don't want our adversaries to have, one, a technological advance over us in terms of what they can do with their capabilities," he said.
The congressman said the government has to explore a wide range of possibilities regarding the purported sightings, including natural phenomena, weather balloons, drones or aircraft "that we may not be able to understand."

Probably looking for a way to tax them.
Who cares what any Democrat wants?
Yet another signal to alien worlds that there’s no intelligent life on this planet.
Here we go again! Democratic Congressman André Carson wants to spend a whole passel of taxpayer money to investigate what the Government has covered in the report just released to the best of its ability. That is typical for a democrat, to spend, spend, spend taxpayer money on stupid stuff that has already been handled!
More government waste.
Andre’ is a complete idiot who can barely read or write - he was handed the ghetto based Congressional seat [IN-7] when his Grandmother Julia Carson died. The Carson family has been in Indiana Politics for 40+ years - plus the other members of the corrupt clan are UAW officials.
The sheep in his district keep re-electing him.
Democrats looking for new donors.
The report released to the public is nine pages.
The actual report is 74+ pages....most of it is still classified.
Why is it that our satellites can focus on your fingernails with crystal clarity, yet all photos of UFO’s are blurry and indistinguishable from blobs???
Maybe democrats want ET help with voter fraud...
Great idea. Like there are no more pressing or important problems to deal with in this country.

“Carson said the objects pose a technical and national security concern and called it “curious” that many of the sightings have occurred around military installations.”
My guess is that the report is based on encounters where military sensors of known (and classified) capabilities were used. These would tend to be located around military installations and related deployments.
UFO’s make a great distraction from the results of the AZ or GA audits. This is predictable.
Satellite images are classified because they can be used to track the trajectory of a satellite and because the images tell our enemies just how developed our satellite sensor technology is.
Carson was privy to the classified briefing. He knows what the DOD and ODNI were willing to release to Congress. Someone--an adversary or someone else--is entering our secure airspace around our ships, aircraft, and nuke bases whenever they want and with impunity. That renders our military useless.
Word is, this is some serious shiite.
