I think a lot goes to the charisma of Johansson as a actress and makeup and costume also helps. She certainly isn’t ugly but she is also far from my objective idea of beauty. Yet she is often attractive in character.

But how apropos: the world sees a sexy woman and thinks that because she is beautiful, that’s all she has to give.

Might not be all she has to give - but it might indeed be all that some made want from her.

And that's their privilege.

Regards,

She supported John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. That makes her very ugly in my eyes.

I was watching American ninja ,ast night, and at the start of the show, they were making a huge deal about women being as powerful and capable as the men, and bragging about how the women were gonna dominate basically. I think only two women made it the whole night. One woman was quite strong for a woman, and handled it pretty well, but she had arms like a man and was totally fit. While she was strong, she wasn’t nearly as strong as the men who breezed through the tough course.

I’m not saying there aren’t freakishly strong women out there, there certainly are, but they are the exception to the rule, not the norm by any means

Clint Eastwood had a line ‘a man’s got to know his limitations’, meaning that bragging about doing something g and actually being capable of doing it are two different things. And it’s better to know and accept one’s limitations than to get in over one’s head because of false expectations

I watch women’s mma when I’m watching the ufcbeczuse they are now putting more and more in there for some resson, and while they are certainly more fit and skilled than I am (I know my limits), they are not as strong as the men. Most of them do not punch with nearly the authority that the men do. Yes, the women’s class are tough, for women, but again, there is a reason they do not compete with the men at the highest levels. I haven’t seen a woman fighter yet that could stand I. The ring with so eine like Chuck Lidell when he was fighting, or vanderlay silva, or rampage Jackson. Some might not like this fact, but nonetheless it is a fact.

“ I think a lot goes to the charisma of Johansson as a actress and makeup and costume also helps.”

I completely agree with you. She is often portrayed in celeb culture as a major hottie. That I don’t really get. Decent actress, yes. World class beauty, not so much.

Black Widow started in the 1970s, not with the movies.

And Scarlett Johansson did a lot to tart up her career over the years before she decided it affected how the public saw her and the roles she was being offered.

>>She was trained to use sex as a weapon, which spies still use today.

China knows this and still does this.

Meanwhile the CIA is now woke and can only engage with bisexual POC who believe in the glory of Marxism.

Not my favorite either though I liked her in Lost in Translation

Any movie focusing on the fantasy of women beating up men whereby younger generations start to believe it

Doesn’t a

Well to me

When Lynda Carter or Lindsay Wagner did it, it was camp....now kids literally believe GI Jane

I don’t even think she is a decent actress, unless she has changed over the years, she always had this pouty dour look on her face, hardly any emotions, like a permanent scowl was etched into her face. I haven’t watched anything wit her in it for awhile, maybe she has changed, but, what I did see I wasn’t impressed with as far as acting skills. To me she just acted like she was there to recite lines and collect her paycheck and to draw audiences because she was ‘sexy’ looking to some I guess. Now again, it’s bee awhile, so maybe she has evolved

When those two women did it, it was not like today’s portrayal of ‘tough women’. They weren’t fakely hyperaggresive, nasty foul-mouthed super angry women. It was much different back then for women superhero types. They didn’t massively OVER-ACT, THEY WERE MOre of a superhero character than a fake hypertough overly unrealistically violent and unrelistically strong woman like you see so often in today’s moronic movies

“I must be the only guy who does not find her hot.”

Nope.

There is a mixture of mongol, slavic, jew, and who knows what else that I find unattractive. Sloping foreheads with strong mono-brows, huge high cheekbones, upturned noses....

Same here, but she looks a bit like my sister, especially the scowl.

She’s a funny kind of hot where the camera has to catch her from the right angle. If the photographer isn’t skillful or lucky, she just looks average. What she does have going for her is distinctiveness. That is, she looks like no one else, which has helped her establish a visual “brand.”

Never went out of my way to see a movie because she was in it. As others have posted in so many words, she’s got no range. Too feminist to be a sex symbol, too serious to do comedy, too dull to do drama.

You must never have watched the movie. See the conversation between Tony Stark and Nick Fury in the donut shop where Fury reads from the report.
