The skunk weed (indica) is native to the Afghanistan area, originally. It was highly prized, back in the day.
Settled science huh? You sound like Fauci.
Can you cite one?
In Vietnam we could get Thai Sticks and those were as good as any pot today, some even had liberal amounts of opium. Consumed in great quantities by all. Get down wind and you could smell a camp from a long ways out. I’ve been in the A Shau when you could smell other platoons up wind of you. That was usually a good thing since the NVA wasn’t much for smoking weed but the VC were so you had to be careful when weed was hanging in the air. Nothing gave away one position more than pot smoke but I guess after a while we just didn’t give a chit anymore.
From your article in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry: “Therefore, the ‘transition-to-psychosis’ due to cannabis, despite it being a strong risk factor, remains UNCERTAIN based upon neurobiological changes. It appears that multiple other factors might be involved in these processes which are beyond neurobiological factors.”
IOW, the conclusions don’t match the headline.
This country owes you a debt that can never be paid.
Some of these drug-store grunts have a hell of a nerve telling you what you can and can’t smoke.
Its still sold by Walmart OTC
“Pot smokers who start in their teens and now smoke daily, have a 25-50 per cent chance of developing addiction.”
And here I thought that people who took a psychoactive drug every day were already addicted. “I smoke every day, man. But I can quit any time I want.” (in Tommy Chong voice.)
We used to get that shyt too. But we didn’t tolerate smoking while on patrol in the gunboats. Off duty only.
Of course there is no “off duty” in the field. But we used to get 12 on 12 off, 24 on 24 off and 36 on 36 off patrol sectors. So we had a lot of rear area time.
Amen.
Isn’t there a certain risk indulging in that when you could be attacked at any time? Your superiors may gave you time off, but that doesn’t mean the enemy will?
🤣
A lot of my superiors were alcoholics. That’s even worse than having potheads around. Alcoholism is a huge problem in the rear. But we were based in DaNang so there wasn’t lot of enemy activity when we were at camp. Sometimes the NVA would send rockets over. But even a pothead can usually find a bunker. And we didn’t usually smoke so much as to become a problem. And not every time in camp either. We did have some sense of self-preservation. Lol. Amazing how fast you can sober up when some 82mm mortar rounds come arcing in.
I can’t see that your text discounts anything. Heavy cannabis use is certainly risky behavior by any measure. “...a strong risk factor.” jmo, though it seems obvious to the objective observer.
Don’t come around much these days, huh?
Whatever that means...
Back in elementary school there was a reading program that was scaled. The higher you went up in the program the color of the “tabs” on the cards changed. Red to green to yellow to blue.
My reading comprehension is just fine.
