That is the purpose of the series of attacks on the 2nd Amendment, and the effort to 'defund the police' - to eliminate all forms of self-defense.
Then the populace will have no other alternative but to depend on police for any form of protection. Then, the Dems will release their army of malcontents, AntiFa, and BLM on the populace, undoubtedly armed with homemade or with the police for their own protection.
And then the people will demand security at the expense of their God-given rights which have already been usurped and taken away.
Then the regime will Federalize the police at the behest and demand of the vocally loudmouthed 3% of the flaming commie/lib minority, just like what happened in Venezuela.
The commie/libs always want centralized government control, larger mega-sized bureaucratic agencies, where there is little local input or governance.
Meanwhile, the general population will ask themselves - " How'd that happen... ?"
