The hair is all wrong though.
My son is tending towards the Libertarian side. “Government should just be abolished.”
“Then it becomes mob rule. Communism. We just need to get back to the Constitution.”
My son is very conservative. I understand the allure of Libertarianism though.
Has your state allowed "legal" Marijuana yet?
“My son is very conservative. I understand the allure of Libertarianism though.”
A good way to start. Young folks will hear out a Libertarian. On paper it’s perfect. The left has demonized the word conservative & republican. Most republicans are libertarians at heart so it’s like the slippery slope of socialism to communism. Socialism has a siren call to it and sounds romantic. Just listen to bill Clinton/Obama. It’s called dealing with what w’re up against.
at this stage of history, where it seems that Dominion controls our elections, there seems little reason to invest in the normal political process and hope to push back on the left via electing “good Republicans”.
if you take a longer view of history, however, and see that what has been lost is not the political skirmish but any notion that freedom is a fundamental human good....then, the whole liberty movement including the LP seems to be a rational investment of time and effort.
I’m not sure that investing in a no compromise philosophically based “agenda” isn’t the path to a renewed future....a distant future, for sure. And probably not a realistic future, save for something almost apocalyptic.
But the foundations of liberty have to be rebuilt and that is part of the whole liberty movement’s modus operandi. I’d have to say, I sort of find that attractive.....stolen elections have consequences and the brazenness an bipartisan nature of what they did basically ended that phase of American history.
So...next up? Maybe liberty will have a chance of we dig deep enough, educate and inspire enough, network enough, etc.
