For the last years of his life, Joe lived in a very small town - about 200 people - on the Western Slope in Colorado. Joe owned quite a few acres there and raised some kind of exotic cattle. He and his wife built an enormous Tudor mansion, and also ran a diner and souvenir shop in the little “downtown. By chance, my brother and his wife moved to this town and soon learned that if you lived there, you were “friends” with the Cockers. At least twice a year - definitely on Boxing Day and also for birthdays and such - they would throw big parties (black tie!!) and invite literally every person in town. My brother became very fond of Joe and was so sad when he passed.
Always Loved him. Saw him in concert once- he did not disappoint.
