Recently I’ve been watching Soviet/Russian films about WWII.

Also notice in those films, they show the British and Americans trying to make secret deals with the Nazis. I assume you watched the "Liberation" series of movies.

Don’t know that I’ve seen them. I watched a couple about tanks, and two or three about the women pilots in their biplanes. There’s one from Belarus, I think called something like ‘Come and See’. The brutality on the Eastern Front is just mind boggling to me.
