I’m not a radio guy but it sounds interesting
I wonder if they think they are bigger profile targets to government since they have serious comm equipment and know how, i wonder if they ever think there’s a personal security downside to amateur radio...

We used an audio compressor on our mike inputs to the sound board. That way, the quieter parts sound like they’ve been boosted in volume to be closer to the louder parts. This makes mixing the different mike sources easier. This looks something the pros would use:
