I don’t need to be any more angry.
Nor I...last Sunday, my 10 YO grandson had a game scheduled for 3 PM. We arrived fifteen minutes late, only to see an extended trophy presentation on our field.
At about 3:30, players and parents are still on the field, taking pictures and celebrating. I'm starting to get angry, it's 95+ degrees out there, and our team has been there since 2 PM.
Due to my military background, I'm still a stickler for being on time. "Where I come from, if you're a minute late for your mission, people die." When I found the tournament director, I very directly expressed my displeasure to him.
His response? "I don't have to talk to you, I only have to talk to the coaches." LOL, our coach was standing right there next to me. I replied, "I'm not a parent, I'm a grandparent, and you're disrespecting our boys by not moving the ceremony along."
By that time, my daughter was out to ferry me off the field. My wife was pissed at me, but I didn't care. I was looking out for my grandson and his teammates.
