E-retailers like Amazon and Walmart have third party retailers and there is a lot of price gouging with the third party retailers. Tools, small appliances, shoes. You are better off shopping locally.

Food is ok, no real changes from hamburger to buns and veggies you will be paying the same around here for most things with a few outliers that have ready substitutes. No idea about packaged foods (we don’t buy them much).

There are going to be whole classes of items that might go missing due to supply chain problems, one week there will be no trash bags to be found for example.

Air conditioners are up across the board, same with sneakers.

Now is a good time to buy American made tools, because they are only a few bucks more than the China made stuff, if you buy from authorized dealers.

Bikes are more reasonable than they were, but they are up in price. Everyone knows about cars already, they are up.

There are third party sellers all over the place jacking up their prices and trying to take advantage of the supply chain problems coupled with stimulus cash in people’s pockets.

Energy prices have been edging up. Its not a lot, but thats what I’m keeping an eye on.

Inflation: Refrigerator prices up - TV prices down - Beef up. What do you see?

I see the situation is as usual: skirts are up and pants are down.

My S-I-L was quoted $8,000 for a new HVAC Unit a few years ago. Now it will cost $12,000.

Beef prices are way up. For some strange reason, canned cat food in very short supplies at all the chains where I live (Giant, Safeway and Wegmans)

Air conditioner price is not important, since the bulk of the total cost of ownership over its lifetime comes from its electricity usage cost.

Used vehicles. For example a used 2019 Silverado will cost around the same amount a a new 2021.

So much for that saying, “drive a new car off the lot and it looses 10% of its value”.

One would think chickens still come with both wings and legs but who knows these days.

I’m actually spending less at the supermarket these days. I’m able to build my saving up even faster.

Co-worker buying his son a GM(Chevy) pickup truck. Used model with 30K miles, similar engines/sizes/etc., bought a NEW one for about $10K LOWER price than the used one.

Our favorite storage canned meat? 13.5% higher this month than last month. We have seen scalping on Amazon and eBay for this brand and type of meat.

Fuel? 60 cents per gallon MORE locally than 30 miles away. The cheaper one is about $1.00 higher per gallon than September 2020.

Steaks at SAMS? Same pack of 4 filet’s was 30% higher than fall of 2020.

Tires for motorcycle? Almost unobtainium. Shop had to order them in from all over the country for 2 bikes(a 650 and a 950 Yamaha). Tires were about $150 more per pair than 2 years ago.

Now some good news.
Ammo prices and availability are getting slightly better.
Example: $0.90 to $1.10 per round is now running $0.75 to $0.90 per round and can be found(ammoseek and others).

Freeze-dried storage meat prices have come down slightly as the supply got better and I guess folks are running out of “Stimulus” $$$$. Works for me but if you’re just starting now, it’s the 4th quarter and the clock is running down.
