The seed billionaire continues to reside in Iowa, where he grew up as the son of a farmer and began helping out with the family business at age 5. He’s given to multiple institutions in his home state, including McPherson College, Drake University and Spurgeon Manor.
Problem is: McPherson College is NOT in Iowa but in McPherson KANSAS.
The Green family, founders and owners of Hobby Lobby and Mardel’s have got to be up there. Perhaps they’ve given enough away to the Bible Museum and other Christian causes to be off the list.
