Hi Wild, I was taking my 7 year old grandson home. He had spent the week with us here in SoCal. He lives in Oregon. So, the first flight was from Orange County to Medford, Oregon, where his other grandparents picked him up. Then I had to fly to San Francisco to get a connection back to Orange County. So, all day in airports or airplanes. I fly a lot to see family and friends. All my choice. I had covid last December and was vaccinated in March, because that was the only way I could get into see my mother, who was in an assisted living facility. Airports are the only place I wear a mask now.
SoCal to Medford is 11-12 hours’ drive; I’ve done it.
I have a relative in SoCal that I visit; I drive, even though it’s 12 hours to ElPaso, sleep in car at rest stop, then another 12 hours to SoCal.
I did that when I was working; took 1 or 2 weeks around Memorial Day and 1 or 2 weeks around Labor Day.
Now that I’m retired the length of stay is longer and more often.
And I’ve flown twice since 9/11; once for a surprise weekend visit, and the other for a job relocation.
