Little by little, statue by statue, street by street, our founders’ names - and our history - are being systematically erased.Isn't that the opposite of what's happening here? Nobody I ever heard of was named "Lake Shore." Whereas DuSable is a genuine part of history because he was the first settler of Chicago. The new name is dumb because it's long and wordy and won't actually be used by anybody. But it's not erasing history.

The local news media will mandate the use of “DuSable Drive” instead of “Lake Shore Drive” or “Outer Drive”.
But as people continue to flee the dying city, will they even notice?
