Little by little, statue by statue, street by street, our founders’ names - and our history - are being systematically erased.
This is what happens in times of revolution.
We are being replaced.
Meanwhile, on Chicago’s west side 20 people were shot last night, none of whom know or care who DuSable was.
Look at the House of Representatives for an example. The majority of the maggots ignore the districts that they are from and instead, engage in national politics, making decisions that are well beyond their scope. Who do these m fers think they are? The districts of many of these morons are 3rd world sh*tholes and yet, they ignore their districts in favor of participating in transforming the entire nation.
Every politician engaging in these decisions should be shot.
He’s a legitimate historical figure. He was one of the original settlers (I think it is woke to say colonizer) of the Chicago area and there have long been streets and other things named after him.
Seems he was a capitalist as he ran several businesses.
The British didn’t like him as he was considered a patriot loyal to the establishment of of the US (Founded with racist ideals, don’t you know.)
He was also smart enough to leave Chicago before it became Chicongo.
Geeze...it will ALWAYS be Lake Shore Drive to me and many others who grew up in/around Chicago.
NOPE! Born and Raised in Chicago. Lake Shore Drive it will always be!!
I want to see all that on a street sign.
He already had a High School named after him - what next Midway Airport?
This isn't even the dumbest street renaming in Chicago history though. For that one I have to go with the time that the Polish community lobbied to get an "honorary street name" plaque honoring Gen. Casimir Pulaski, and they got it, but the plaque is attached to the street that had already been named "Pulaski Rd" for decades. So it's "Pulaski Rd - Honorary Casimir Pulaski Way", with 2 different Pulaski signs on every street sign now:
Just like Sears Tower and Comisky Park, they can name it whatever they want but to those who live in the area, the name will never really change.
He has no connection with the African American community other than his color.
If he were white he'd be denounced for genocide against the natives.
I was astounded to learn that a few years ago, Lindbergh Field, San Diego’s airport, was renamed San Diego International Airport, and a mural of Charles Lindbergh has been removed. Never mind his stupendous and historic accomplishments, he’s now apparently seen as some sort of “racist,” probably just for being white.
“Running south on Jean-Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive, heading into town…”
Why is he the only settler to have something named after him.
No limit to stupidity.
The ridiculously long street name will make it easier for travelers to get lost and end up in the wrong neighborhood, where they can be robbed and pay reparations.
