I don’t think the federal prosecution of Chauvin makes any sense or is justified. But, that doesn’t mean it’s ‘double jeopardy.’

I believe the feds aren’t charging Chauvin and the others for murdering St. George, but rather of depriving him of his federally protected rights.

SCOTUS decided a long time ago that prosecution for a state crime and federal civil rights violation is not double jeopardy. Can’t say that I agree with the decision but there it is.
