If Chauvin’s sentence was based on the value of Floyd’s life they would owe Chauvin credit back for time served.
Fortunately, the sentence is at least supposed to be based on the actual crime that the accused has been convicted of!

I was responding someone’s comment that Chauvin’s sentence wasn’t harsh enough due to their belief that Floyd’s life was worth more than 22.5 years. My response was that IF we base Chauvin’s sentence on the value of Floyd’s life then Chauvin should serve no jail time. Floyd is a thug and a criminal. I stand by my statement.
