Great takedown of a PA School Board by a Brit. Here is the Sullivan vs New York Times case that is on point regarding parents who are confronting school boards.

In an oft-quoted line, Justice Brennan acknowledged that the actual malice standard may protect inaccurate speech, but that the "erroneous statement is inevitable in free debate, and ... it must be protected if the freedoms of expression are to have the 'breathing space' that they need to survive."[18]

The United States, Brennan noted, is founded on the "profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open, and that it may well include vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials."[19]
