......not necessarily....we live in one of Austin’s ‘burbs and have met a lot of former Californians who have simply had it with that liberal utopia [sic]....they are as conservative and America-loving as anybody you might want for a neighbor....they just want out of CA and they are NOT flaming-a**d liberals......

I live in SW Austin, I was recently in a restaurant in Circle C sitting at the bar, and about 50% of those in the bar where from California.

When I mentioned Californians moving here and turning Texas "blue" the guy sitting next to me says - "no way". He knew a lot of people moving here from CA and none would be voting D. He said the reason he moved here was because he and his wife wanted to start a family and "in CA you need to pay for 3 kids that aren't yours before you can start to pay for your own". I hope he's right.

As far as housing costs go, it's absolutely bonkers. We were looking to downsize anyway, so my wife and I bought a condo and we are renting our house out. I got 3600 for a 4 x 3.5 3100sqft home in Shady Hollow - 2 year lease without even listing it, they saw yard sign before it was listed. People moving here for Tesla, Samsung and Oracle haven't gotten here yet, prices will go up for another 2 years.
