Actually, I think it was about 60% of cannon used by the Continental Army were forged in Connecticut. CT was a charter colony, not a Crown colony, and the governor was elected. He was known as “The Rebel Governor” and devoted all the resources of the state to support the cause. I recommend “1775: A Good Year for Revolution” by Kevin Phillips. An extremely timely read, dense with information about how the Revolution got started, and how it *succeeded*
