Agree. New Yorkers are the cause of their own problems. Insane politicians like DeBlasio are the symptom not the disease. Until the voters there stop their smug self impressed navel gazing leftist attitudes they’re going to get garbage politicians running the place into the ground. People like DB and the Cortez nitwit aren’t elected by mistake. They’re elected because they represent the viewpoint of the majority of the voters.
We need NYC to fix thyself so the cockroaches move back...they are spreading their progressive disease in FL and elsewhere.

On the decent side he advocated taking the nuts off the streets and putting them in asylums.
I hope Sliwa wins, but NYC votes democrat these days. I live 70 miles from NYC & people actually commute there. The local busses were going back & forth all day & night. Nowadays not so much. Plus, people aren’t going there for the day anymore to see a show. Shows are shut down & crime is bad. You would think big media in NYC would care, but they don’t. They won’t support Curtis.
As it was the only choice for a while on the radio for talk, I listened to the “Curtis and Kuby” show. Sliwa was paired with Ron Kuby the ultra leftie lawyer acolyte of William Kunstler. Kuby ran circles around Curtis every day of the week. It was pathetic. Curtis is a great guy, as he likes to say, “a rock-ribbed Republican”, but he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, putting it kindly. Sad to say, I don’t think he is up to the job of being mayor of one of the world’s most important cities. Even sadder, Eric Adams is probably smarter, but an awful race hustler. The future of New York City is bleak.
This campaign will be highly entertaining!
Curtis Sliwa is a street fighter with a tenacious and nakedly earnest drive to clean up the city and battle scars to prove it.
Maybe, just maybe, fear of crime will trump party and race loyalty. We shall see.
No doubt, Curtis is the better person as far as crime is concerned.
Agree. The problem is that New Yorkers don't see themselves as a problem I lived in the Bronx for 2.5 years in the early 70's and worked with (obviously) New Yorkers. I've never seen a more self satisfied, smug, close minded, unjustifiably self impressed bunch before or since. They for the most part thought the sun rose and set out of their asses because they lived in "the city."
I thought their politics were insane even then and at the time I wasn't really all that in to anything but 2nd amendment issues and tried to avoid political discussions even on that subject because it was like trying to teach a herd of swine to sing. Their beliefs were cast in concrete and nothing you could say made a dent. To slightly misquote Stuart Chase, "for the true believer, not proof is needed and no disproof possible."
