Hell of a thing that we're still having the same debates 2400 years later.
What I have seen is that people find “experts” who will say what they already think. And you can always find an expert to agree with you. Honestly, I have a very hard time discerning fact from opinion these days.
I detest reading research papers from these experts. At 19 out of 20 of these papers are a waste of time. Usually because the support concepts that are just wrong.
No one, elite or otherwise, is infallible, which is why our Founding Fathers warned against concentrating too much power in any one man, no matter how competent and virtuous. OTOH I was reading about Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s video supporting the “voting rights” bill and I have to agree with the Freepers who questioned why entertainers don’t just shut up and act/sing. Wanting people to know what they are talking about before they shoot their mouths off is not elitism. Advocating for the concentration of power in a dynasty is. I don’t look to actors and athletes for political commentary any more than I let businessmen make my health care decisions for me.
