Do these "official figures" also account for the 11 million illegal aliens that have allegedly been in this country since that immutable figure was first announced, back in 2003? Or is it 25 million? Or maybe 33 million?
Unless we can first agree on how many people (incl. illegal aliens) are in this country, it seems pretty pointless to me to debate about (apparent) mere hundreds of thousands of excess deaths.

Counting deaths in the USA is not like counting the number of illegals. The former can be determined with relatively better precision than the latter.
Deaths year by year are reported via hospitals, funeral parlors, police, law enforcement etc.t
Illegals? It is difficult to track numbers when you don’t know how many have crossed the border or even gone back without them informing ICE. We also have sanctuary cities everywhere that refuse to cooperate with the immigration department.
The nature and difficulty of tracking is not the same. I believe the CDC numbers are much more accurate than immigration. The reason why the CDC can report death numbers without rounding is because they rely on REPORTED DATA.
