I hear you, Linda. I used to like going to church. My growing up church was wonderful. And I liked my college church for about a year. I moved from San Diego to Nashville and wasn’t thrilled. Moved back to San Diego (missed my family and the beach lol) and got married. The church we started going to seemed to have so many issues. It was like a bad habit to break, all our friends were there.
The Youth minister’s husband was rumored to like little boys, another man liked teen boys, the pastor turned out to be gay. So we left. I didn’t want my boys molested and didn’t like having a liar for a pastor. He was married and had 2 kids.
Then we went to Shadow Mountain (ha, I do have a point). I really liked Dr. Jeremiah, liked his books, but then they remodeled the church and now down, front and center is the weirdest stained glass, but I didn’t pay any attention to it until Q. Well, it’s an eye with an odd cross. And Jeremiah has some very odd hand signs.. very masonic. People have asked and the church’s answer is “you’re crazy”. If all were above board, why not just make a regular cross? Why the single eye?
Anyway, my point is I don’t trust pastors right now. They are in a position of authority and power and I’m sick of that.
