Hooray! Criminals and other gang-bangers were blocked from buying those dangerous and violent guns, because we all know they buy their guns in gun stores and from the NRA! (Sarcasm tag necessary?)

I have noticed an increase in denials at the store I work at, the VSP doesn’t tell us why they were denied.

I remember when Obama-Holder forced illegal gun sales to Mexican narcoterrorists who ran guns and failed background checks.

Isn’t denying a gun sale for a felony conviction racist? I mean, it’s what progressives say about denying convicted felons a vote.

I'm gonn'a take a guess here and proffer most of these were folks that had no idea they were on a no buy list.

divorcee's, third dui (I think), ... convicted assault "criminals" .. (I put that in quotes because a lot of domestic violence is drunken or you just pissed me off this one time ) ... stuff like that

Criminals that know they're criminals never try.

THESE kinds of reports are designed to raise unsuspecting hackles and get the thought processes going to align someone with a numb electorate and not an intelligent decision.

IMO

Let’s see……

BATFE regulates gun sales, etc

We fill out BATFE forms to make purchases.

BATFE provides the various licenses for dealers and collectors.

BATFE provides tax stamps for certain weapons.

BATFE is supposed to investigate gun crimes.

Why does the FBI do the NICS check? Why are they involved in any of it? If they are why do we need two agencies?

Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Usually most of those rejections are errors of some kind.

The real questions are, how many of those people were subsequently approved, and how many people were prosecuted?

"The loopholes in the law allow people to avoid the system, even if they just meet online or at a gun show for the first time."

ya, writing a new law would sure slow that down......idiots!

So with about 21 million checks for firearms purchases, that would be very roughly 1 denied out of 70 purchases. And about 40% of the 21 million checks were for new buyers.

I had been getting multiple 3-day ‘holds’ for the last 4-5 years. That is where if the FFL dealer does not hear back from the FIB, you get your firearm after it is held for 3 days.

Finally, in December, I got denied for an AR-15 stripped lower receiver. I’ve never even been so much as arrested-for anything-much less convicted of a felony restricting my right to purchase a firearm. After some research I learned a scumbag convicted felon in New Orleans LA has the exact same name as I do. 600 miles between us plus we do not share the same address nor the same SS number... I wound up having to get the federal DA involved to clear it up all up.

Such is the level of competence @ the FIB

Another take is that 100+ thousand convicted felons we can’t trust with a gun are roaming free among us.
