"Freedom of the press," or "the right of the People to a free press," is really the right of the People to publish.

What we do here on Free Republic is also freedom of the press, and I'm sure that many in the LAAP-dog media read what is written here.

I agree completely. I have enjoyed the “Sparrowhawk” book series which takes place largely in the years leading up to the American Revolution, and one part of the book deals with printing presses being shipped from England to the colonies, and the licenses associated with being able to own and run one.

And the political requirements, being a subject of The Crown.

Interesting reading on an aspect of a subject I never knew all that much about.
